Golf Resort Property Murcia
The province of Murcia lies in the south east corner of Spain and the capital of Murcia sits on a large flat plain which is surrounded by mountains. It is home to some beautiful, historic buildings including the city's cathedral built in the 15th century and the architecturally impressive Church of San Juan de Dios. It is now a very popular university city that attracts both Spanish and international students who love the city's laid back vibe. It is also one of the fastest growing areas for luxury golf properties in Spain. The coastline called the "Costa Cálida" (warm coast) features 150 miles of beautiful unspoiled, sandy beaches and thankfully the coast and the interior have managed to remain unscathed by tourism with no mass property development. This lack of overdevelopment makes Murcia the ideal location for those who would prefer to avoid some built up areas of some of the Costas in favour of peace and quiet and are looking to find something similar to the Cottages Lake District type of scenery and tranquility. Getting there is easy, low cost airlines such as Ryanair and Easyjet operate regular flights to the regions main airports at San Javier (Murcia) and Alicante and a new airport at Corvera is due to open in 2009. Getting about is even easier with a new high speed train link to Madrid meaning the capital is only a two hour train ride away and a new motorway network which connects the main cities and tourist resorts of the region. ![]() The Mar Menor is a popular holiday destination, it is a unique costal lagoon of warm sea water separated from the Mediterranean by a long spit of land called La Manga. This skinny strip of land juts out into the sea and is home to popular residential properties and the sophisticated Tomas Maestre marina with its busy bars, restaurants and nightclubs. The renowned La Manga Club located at Mar Menor became Spain's first golf resort, the first of its kind to successfully combined residential golf property with superb five star facilities and amenities. The resort contains three 18 hole courses, tennis and squash courts, cricket grounds, seven football pitches, a luxury hotel, restaurants, bars and shops. The brainchild of American entrepreneur Gregory Peters who after happening upon La Manga on his travels, decided it would be the perfect location for a "Florida" style resort. Since then, many of the residential developments have followed in the footsteps of the highly successful La Manga Club. Property investors and holiday makers have been wowed by these ultra luxurious resorts. Meticulously planned, they feature properties built surrounding manicured golf courses with five star hotels, spas, town centres with shops selling everything from everyday essentials to gifts and jewellery and excellent sporting facilities all available onsite. One such developer is Polaris World who currently has seven resorts featuring superb residential property all surrounding golf courses designed by golfing legend Jack Nicklaus. (Click here to view Polaris World properties for sale) Murcia features high quality golf properties for sale with superb facilities that offer much better value for money when compared to similar developments in other areas of Spain such as the Costa de Sol and Costa Blanca. Not surprisingly the areas popularity has soared. Holidaymakers and property investors alike are suitably impressed with the improvements to the regions infrastructure (new motorways, high speed trains and a new airport), the luxurious properties for sale, the fabulous sandy beaches, the professional golf courses and of course the exceptional climate. Taking all of this into account, it is no wonder that many UK residents plan to relocate to Spain and areas such as Murcia. Not only does the region of Murcia offer a fantastic all year round pleasant temperature, there are also lots of things to do and enjoy in this still relatively unspoiled area of Spain. With a range of removals companies only a few mouse clicks away, including car shipping Spain specialists, it is easier than ever to make an international move. Whilst many of the Polaris World resorts are located near to the shores of the Mar Menor, it is a relatively short car drive to the main city of Murcia. From the Mar Menor it would take you no more than approximately 25 minutes to get into the city along the C-3319 dual carriagway. The city of Murcia is steeped in history and offers a huge amount of interesting things to go and see for any tourist. It also offers some fantastic shopping opportunities and has the El Corte Ingles department store in the centre, surrounded by most of the high street chains. If you are looking for local handicrafts and souvenirs or need to update your wardrobe with new beachware or a new made to measure suit, then Murcia definitely aims to cover all your shopping needs. There are also numerous shops selling high quality skincare products such as Welena or Avene, its really important to look after your skin as the sun in Spain is extremely poerful. |
